On Friday, September 22, 2023, a free online seminar, "The Role of Employing People with Disabilities in Creating Diverse Organizations," will be co-hosted by Embrace Inc. and Search Core K.K.

With the minimum required legal threshold for employment of persons with disabilities set to increase from the current 2.3% to 2.5% in April 2024 and 2.7% in April 2026, the importance of efforts to employ persons with disabilities is increasing.

While interest has focused on the outsourcing of employment of people with disabilities in order to achieve the legally mandated employment rate, some have pointed out the problems of hiring them in an environment separate from the company itself.

While the employment of people with disabilities tends to focus on compliance with laws and regulations and fulfillment of social responsibilities, it can actually be viewed as a measure to promote corporate diversity and enhance competitiveness.

In this seminar, guest speaker Ms. Naomi Tsuru, Executive Officer and Head of Human Resources, Fidelity International group in Japan, will discuss the company’s approach and efforts to employ people with disabilities. Ms. Tsuru has long experience in human resources in the financial industry and is an innovative leader who has been passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion.

We will also discuss the future direction of employment of people with disabilities in anticipation of the required increases next year, and how to incorporate consideration for employees with neurodevelopmental disabilities into the management of employees overall. Therefore, those interested in managing employees with developmental disabilities are also welcome to attend.
